Spring Dresses… Where to find them and how to wear them!

I don’t know about you, but I am longing for the days of sunshine and patio drinks. The days are growing longer, the birds are chirping earlier, you know what that means ladies … DRESS season is approaching!! So sit back, grab a glass of your favourite white or red and let us do the work for you. I am going to show you a few of my favourite spring dresses and give you some ideas on how to style them.

Unless you have been living under a rock, or just getting out of jail like Demi’s mom, you know that anything animal print is going to be a hit. I found this dress and thought it would be a perfect addition to my closet for spring. I love how it is easy to transition from day time to night time. I am envisioning wearing this dress to a few of my daughters ball games. I know some of you are shaking your head and thinking WTH?! Who wears a dress to children’s ball games? ME! I do. But hear me out – This midi length is perfect for those windy days out there. No need to be showing off a little cheek at a kids ball game, and if wearing a dress to a ball game makes me happy, I am going to wear a dress to the game! And you should do the same, wear what makes you happy! So to keep this look super casual, I would pair it with these cute little white leather Keds sneakers. There is an adorable little patch of blush coloured leather on the heel to give them some character. Instead of going with a traditional purse, I would use a black backpack like the one I posted below from H&M. This backpack is made from faux suede and will give your outfit some texture and make it more playful. And to top it all off, a simple white ball cap like this one from Aritzia.

H&M Jacquard-Patterned Dress $34.99

My inner hippie is really digging the fact that macramé is back in style. You are going to see these 60’s inspired dresses everywhere this season. They are perfect for any music festival, or even a backyard gathering with your friends. This is the type of dress you will want to pack away so you can hand it down to your daughters when they cycle back in style 30 years from now. I am lucky enough to have an amazingly talented Mom who made me a custom crochet dress that I wore to Coachella a few years ago. For this look below I was picturing a back yard BBQ with friends. Does anyone else do this when they pick out outfits? I always like to imagine what I will be doing when wearing the outfit I am styling. I guess it helps me piece together a whole look. So next time you are shopping, try doing this and see if it helps you. Or maybe I am just a tad obsessive and this will serve no purpose to you ?! It’s worth a shot though.

These Free People Rio Vista Slide Sandals work so great with this outfit, and they are a great staple item to have in your spring wardrobe. Nothing says easy breezy like a straw hat. I love this South Beach Straw Boater Hat from ASOS. To complete this look, I found these Marshall sunnies from Ray-Ban. I personally have always been a fan of the circle frame sunnies, especially with this 60’s inspired look, unfortunately my face shape doesn’t lend itself to this style. That’s why I love this revised take on the tradition circle frame. They compliment my rather square, some might say large, head. If you need a little peace and love in your life, this is the look for you!

Zara Pointelle Dress $49.90

This look might be my favourite! I recently just purchased the wrap dress for an upcoming trip to Nashville for the CMA Fest. I am going for the girly vintage rock and roll vibe here. This wrap dress is actually a faux wrap dress. Which is perfect for me, because God knows I would find someway to have a wardrobe malfunction. This dress is Kaeli proof! I get the look of the wrap dress that I love without the fear of flashing the public. I took a page from AC/DC’s style book and I found this amazing Captain’s Cap from H&M for only $17.99. I think it adds the perfect amount of rock n’ roll edge to this look. OK, lets talk about this Fringed Jacket from Zara. This jacket is everything! It pulls the whole look together. Just think about how amazing that fringe is going to look as I twirl my way down Broadway, singing along to all my favourite country songs. I knew I wanted to find a pair of black booties for this look. I wasn’t sure if I wanted some metal buckles or studs, or if I wanted to just go plain black. Then I found these Rotary Black Booties by Steve Madden and it was a done deal. The chunky heel and the little side cut to show off your ankle sold me. I can’t wait to wear this look!
